** Please note we will no longer be taking appointment bookings on the day to see the GP at the front desk between 8:30-9:00am UNLESS it is for a follow up appointment or to see the Nurse. All GP appointments between 8:30 - 9:00am must be booked via the telephone to provide a fair opportunity for all. This will be implemented as of Monday 19th November**
We operate an advanced access system for booking appointments. There will be some pre-bookable appointments available each day and the rest will be on offer if you ring the surgery between 08:30 and 09:00 on the day you wish to be seen. If you feel your request can be dealt with over the phone please tell the receptionist as this will save you a visit and an appointment slot.
When making an appointment you may specify which doctor you would like to see. Please be aware that if the doctor you wish to see is already fully booked you will be offered an appointment with another doctor or specialist practitioner if they are available. If you wish to see a specific clinician based on gender please state this at the time.
Receptionists ask for some indication as to your call as they enter this on the clinicans appointment screen. During the morning they will triage by reviewing the comments to see if there's anything that needs to be dealt with more urgently, therefore any information you feel you can provide is welcomed.
Appointment slots are for 10 minutes.
If you wish to speak to the doctor or nurse please ring at around midday. If nobody is available to take your call your details will be taken and you will be called back.
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
